Serving on the Commission on Global Partnerships (CoGP): Doyle Lester (Chair - CBC Omaha, NE); Roger Reimer (Crosspoint Omaha, NE); Marilynn Lester (CBC Omaha, NE); Gary Williams (Dalmeny, SK); Rob Quiring (Crosspoint Omaha, NE) and Amanda Tuller (Hebron, NE).
The purpose statement of the CoGP (based upon the identity statement and purpose statement of the FEBC) is as follows, "The Commission on Global Partnerships exists to glorify God by encouraging our global partners and assisting FEBC churches in promoting global service work." |
We will accomplish these goals:
1. Through our churches
- Educate and inform through the Fellowship Focus
- Research and recommend available global service work materials
- Assist in recruiting short-term global service work teams from among our churches
- Assist churches in the promotion of global service work through shared ideas
- Recommend the ordination of global partners when requested by their sending agencies through the Commission on Churches
- Connect with prospective global partners when possible
2. To our global Partners
- Consistent correspondence with and faithful prayer for all global partners.
- Carefully selecting and sending a challenging book to each annually (as funds permit).
- Assist global partners during home assignment
- Provide subsidies for high school students attending Reentry Retreats.
3. To the FEBC
- Recommend global partner candidates who have been interviewed and approved
- Recommend reappointment of returning global partners
- Direct gifts and bequests for global service work advancement
- Approve college student grant requests for short-term assignments
