FEBC Outreach Scorecard
This can be applied personally or to the church as a whole. It can be measured by a number out of 10, or you could ask, 'How many times have I observed this in the last month?' The main idea is not to get a score, but a baseline against which we can measure change over time.
- Believers in our church pray in groups for people and for outreach opportunities (in home groups, prayer meetings, church comm. meetings, etc.)
- Believers in our church speak freely about their faith/church in everyday conversations with people at work, school, clubs, sports teams outside church
- Believers in our church have a good number of unchurched friends they spend time with, either over meals or during weekend activities
- Believers in our church continue to be faithful in reaching out to the community even if there is no apparent fruit
- Believers in our church encourage one another in outreach by sharing their own stories and experiences with each other – both good & not so good
- Believers in our church routinely look for and seize opportunities to talk about their faith during the course of everyday life
- Believers in our church are known for connecting with and engaging the surrounding community in ways that are creative and long lasting
- Believers in our church pray daily on their own for unchurched acquaintances by name
- Believers in our church commonly interact/spend time with non-believers outside work, be it sports, hobbies, school, community groups, or as volunteers
- Believers in our church make time to engage acquaintances, colleagues & friends in conversations on life topics (meaningful topics about life, beliefs, family, values, hurts, etc.)
- Believers in our church recognize and/or create opportunities (best place & time) to start meaningful conversations with non-believers
- Believers in our church recognize or create opportunities to turn a meaningful conversations towards faith topics
- Believers in our church can easily speak about their faith and the gospel message in a variety of ways using plain English
- Believers in our church often discuss spiritual topics with non-Christian friends or acquaintances in the course of everyday life
- Believers in our church know how to calmy answer common questions - even objectiions - about the Bible, God and faith without being nervous or defensive (basic apologetics)
- Believers in our church are involved in the community coaching sports, supporting the school, community leadership, etc
- Believers in our church easily invite the unchurched to our church so that it is not uncommon site to see non-blievers in our church and programs
- Believers in our church do not hide their faith or church involvement - their unchurched acquaintances and friends know that they attend church.
- Believers in our church easily talk in fellow church members about what God is doing in their lives - whether He is teaching, convincting, encouraging, testing, etc.
- Believers in our church care for people in the community provide help and support as various needs or crises arise
- Believers in our church are often asked by the pastor to share the story of how God is transforming their life in church services
- Believers speak freely about their faith/church in everyday conversation
- Believers look for and seize outreach opportunities during the course of everyday life out of habit
