Commission on Education (CoE)

Endeavouring to support the equipping work of our fellowship churches, the Commission on Education exists to promote Christian education that supports the proclamation of the Gospel.
Current commission members: Paul Boeker (Chair, Omaha, NE); Tammi Colegrove (Omaha, NE); Betty Peters (Lincoln, NE)
The current focus of the commission consists of:
- Opportunities for personal spiritual development through regularly scheduled webinars.
- Awarding of the FEBC Christian ministry scholarships.
- Contributing educational content to FEBC publications such as the Fellowship Focus.
The CoE oversees the following programs:
Christian Ministries Scholarship
The commission provides annual scholarships of $1000 each to students preparing for Christian ministry. Generous constituents have built up the Scholarship Trust Fund. Income from this fund provides scholarships. Over $160,000 has been awarded since 1988. Applications are available by contacting the FEBC office or online, and must be returned by May 31.
Continuing Education Scholarship
Fellowship pastors and missionaries who need additional training or who are enrolled in graduate programs may apply for a scholarship of $1000. Applications are available by contacting the FEBC office or online, and must be returned by May 31.
Anna Rieger Award
Each year the commission recognizes a Christian educator from one of our churches. Churches have an opportunity to nominate a teacher or leader who has had a significant impact in the lives of members. The person chosen by the CoE is honored at the Annual Convention with a certificate and a gift. Please contact the FEBC office for a nomination form. Applications are available in February by contacting the FEBC office, and must be returned by April 30.
