Mission, Vision, and Values

Dalmeny Bible Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our community and the rest of the world. In order to accomplish our mission, we have embraced the following Vision: Families and friends reaching out together as servants of Jesus Christ.

The values that guide us toward both our mission and vision are threefold:
  1. Biblical Authority: The Bible is our absolute authority for faith and practice
  2. Gospel-Centered: We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ at every opportunity with our words and demonstrating its transforming power with our lives
  3. Loving Community: We are compelled to love our neighbor with the same love Christ has loved us.

About us

The community of Dalmeny prides itself as “A Great Place to Call Home” and that is also how we feel about DBC.  We are a multigenerational congregation that wants to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, love one another as God has called us to, and to bring the good news of Jesus to our community and around the world. Our vision that we would be "Families and friends reaching out together as servants of Jesus Christ."

Dalmeny Bible Church was founded in 1904 in response to a group of German-speaking settlers who had begun arriving in the Dalmeny area as early as 1901. The church has had a strong missionary emphasis since its early days, sending a single lady to work in a mission in Chicago in the early 1900’s, and commissioning a missionary to China in 1921. Since then many career and short-term missionaries have and continue to be supported by DBC.  Other initiatives supported by the church include: partnership with a church in Ukraine; co-sponsorship of Camp Kadesh at Christopher Lake; and the establishment of a level-four care facility and independent living units for seniors called Spruce Manor and Spruce Villa and works independently and in collaboration with other community churches to serve the community of Dalmeny. DBC is not affiliated with any denomination but is associated with an independent group of churches known as the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches.
